Unit 4 Case Study

In addition to ensuring the integrity of your food supply chain, at times food fraud and threats could occur due to insider acts. For example, some staff may have more access to processing facilities, formulations, procurement and list of suppliers or even accounts. This provides multiple opportunities for fraudsters to perpetrate crimes (e.g. substitution of genuine food ingredients, re-labelling or expiry dates, theft and sale of formulations, and alteration of suppliers without approval.)
